The Meteorology Department issued an advisory for severe lightning for western Sabaragamuwa, provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
According the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre severe lightning would take place in western Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
Thundershowers accompanied with severe lightning will likely to occur at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa province and in Galle and Matara districts.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers, therefore people are kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
