The Supreme Court today listed the Fundamental Rights Petition filed by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa challenging the reduction of his security detail for consideration on March 19.
The case was heard before a three-judge bench comprising Justices Preethi Padman Surasena, Janak de Silva, and Sampath Abeykoon.
The former president is seeking the reinstatement of his security which has been significantly reduced by the government.
In his petition, the former president claims he is facing terrorist threats as the person who gave political leadership to the military operations against the LTTE.
