Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe today said that tomorrow (8) despite Sunday being a weekend, it has been set aside as a special day for the distribution of polling cards.
The Department of Posts announced that around 3 million official polling cards for the 2024 presidential election have already been distributed.
The distribution process, which began on September 3, is set to continue until September 14.
“Despite tomorrow being Sunday, we have marked it as a special day for delivering polling cards. Our teams will be distributing them door-to-door from 8 am to 6 pm," Mr. Ranasinghe added.
He also requested residents to stay home to receive their polling cards, as signatures are required to confirm receipt.
