Chairman of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) Koshala Wickremasinghe, has launched a special program titled ‘Talk to Chairman’ to address unresolved issues faced by migrant workers and combat trafficking.
Unveiled at the SLBFE head office yesterday, the initiative aims to alleviate the pressures migrant workers encounter when seeking foreign employment, particularly due to exploitation by various officials and brokers for financial gain and to create an effective system for resolving migrant worker issues and improving services for the community.
Mr. Wickremasinghe assured that the new government is committed to eliminating these practices.
The ‘Talk to Chairman’ program features a dedicated counter at the SLBFE head office to record complaints, accusations, and grievances, as well as a complaint box where solutions will be provided for issues raised.
To ensure confidentiality, measures have been implemented for complainants, who can submit their concerns through multiple channels, including telephone (0112 864188), WhatsApp (0717 593 593), or email (talkchairman@slbfe.lk).
