Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has decided to appoint former SLPP MP Mr Jayantha Ketagoda to fill the seat that will fall vacant after the resignation of State Minister Ajith Nivard Cabraal from Parliament.
SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam today (13) said that the party has already decided to appoint Mr Ketagoda soon after Mr Cabraal sends in his resignation today.
Mr Ketagoda's name has been sent to the Elections Commission to fill in the vacancy created.
Meanwhile, Mr Cabraal is set to take up the role of Central Bank Governor by midweek.
