The Commandant of the Special Task Force (STF) Deputy Inspector General of Police Waruna Jayasundara is among seven DIGs who have been transferred, the Police Media Division announced.
DIG Jayasundara will assume duties as the DIG in charge of the Eastern Province from February 12.
He is being replaced by the DIG for the Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu divisions D.G.S.de Silva.
DIG Ajith Rohana who is currently in charge of the Eastern Province has been transferred to the North Western Province.
The current DIG for the North Western Province Kithsiri Jayalath will assume duties as the DIG for the Southern Province.
DIG S.W.M. Senaratne who serves as the DIG Southern province will take over duties in the Uva province while the Uva Province DIG U.P.A.D.K.P. Jayasundara has been assigned for Special Security Duties.
The new DIG for the Kilinochchi and Mannar divisions will be the current DIG for Mannar and Vavuniya divisions S.D.Weerasekara.
