Suspect in possession of smuggled herbicides and fungicides were arrested by the Special Task Force, said today.
They said that the arrest was made following information received by them. The suspect identified as a 57 year old resident of Nuwarapara area of Nuwara Eliya was charged with possessing and smuggling herbicides and fungicides imported into Sri Lanka without paying duty.
He was possessing 77 packs of fungicide products and 217 packs of Ammonium Salt of Glyphosate.
The suspect which was apprehended by the STF was handed over to the Consumer Affairs Authority office at Nuwara Eliya for further investigations
