A 40-year-old suspect was taken into custody by the Special Task Force (STF) in Rajagiriya with 2.24 kilograms of heroin during an operation conducted last evening.
The heroin was packed into two parcels. The suspect has been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) for further investigations, police said.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana added that police will look into how the suspect came by the heroin and where the heroin has been distributed.
