Sacred Relics of St. Anthony Reverently Welcomed in Wattala

The sacred relics of St. Anthony, highly venerated by Sri Lankans, were solemnly brought on the afternoon of June 13 today , St. Anthony's Feast Day, to St. Anthony's church, Dikowita, which belongs to the Wella Palliya Parish, Wattala
The sacred relics and a special statue of St. Anthony, brought from Padua, Italy, were ceremonially escorted from the Hendala junction at 3:00 pm in a special motorcade and enshrined at the church in Dikowita ,Wattala.
This event was organized under the guidance of Rev Fr. Nuwan Tharaka Fernando, Parish Priest of Wellapalliya and Rev. Fr. Shirantha Niroshan, Assistant Parish Priest, and the participation of many clergy including priests from nearby Parishes, Buddhist monks and nuns from local temples and convents, as well as a large number of faithful from the community.
