Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena today announced in Parliament that the Supreme Court had ruled that several clauses in the Sri Lanka Telecommunications (Amendment) Bill are inconsistent with the Constitution and can only be passed by the special 2/3 majority in Parliament.
However, the SC had ruled that those specific clauses can be passed with a simple majority if amended.
