Sri Lanka Railways have set up special train service to facilitate commuters who are planning to travel to Anuradhapura to take part in a the Maha Ariyawansha Sermon which will take place at the Ruwanweli Maha Seya.
The special train service on the Beliatta - Anuradhapura Railway Line will be provided on December 30 and 31.
The train travelling from Kandy to Colombo Fort would be available at 6 a.m. Pilgrims in Kandy are instructed to use the Kandy – Colombo train and exit at the Polgahawela station and take the Beliatta - Anuradhapura special train which would be stopping at the Polgahawela railway station.

The Government today tabled in the House the Report of the Commission to Inquiry into the Establishment and Maintenance of Unlawful Places of Detention and Torture Chambers in the Batalanda Housing Scheme.
