Sri Lanka Railways says additional trains will be running from today (April 04) until April 17 following the forthcoming Sinhala and Tamil New year season.
Hence, the following trains will be moving in addition to the regular long-distance trains during the foregoing period.
Main line trains - Trains on the upcountry line: On April 5 and 6 the train will leave Fort at 07.30 PM and arrive at Badulla by 05.05 a.m. on April 04, 06, 12 and 16 another train will move from Fort at 06.30 a.m and reach Badulla by 05.15 pm on April 05 to 16 (except on April 14)
Trains that proceed to Fort: The train will leave from Badulla at 05.20 pm and reach to Fort by 03.50 am April 04, 06, 12 and 16. Another train will be running from Badulla at 07.00 a.m and arrive at Fort at 04.50 pm on April 06 to 17 excluding April 14.
Coastal line trains/ Southern Railway - Trains that proceed downwards: The train will leave Fort at 07.20 pm and reach Galle by 09.35 pm on April 15 and 16. The next train will depart from Maradana at 06.05 a.m and arrive at Beliatta by 09.20 on April 06. Another train will proceed from Anuradhapura at 12.30 p.m and reach Beliatta by 08 .40 on April 09 and 16.
Trains that proceed from the south upwards: The train will leave Galle at 06.10 a.m and reach Fort by 08.20 a.m on April 16 and 17. The next train depart from Beliatta at 03.30 p.m. and reach Maradana by 07.00 p.m on April 06. Another train will leave from Beliatta at 07.30 a.m and will proceed to Anuradhapura by 03.20 p.m on April 08 and 15.
