The Sri Lanka Police Department received a donation of 26 Ranomoto motorcycles and 100 Lenovo desktop computers from the People's Republic of China yesterday (10).
The request was made by IGP C.D. Wickramaratne and President’s Senior Adviser on National Security and the President’s Chief of Staff Sagala Ratnayake to the Ambassador to China Qi Zhenhong with the aim of enhancing the operational capabilities of the Sri Lanka Police Department.
The official handing over of documentation took place as Ambassador Qi Zhenhong presented the goods to President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
A group of senior officials from the Chinese Embassy, Inspector General of Police C.D. Wickramaratne, Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (Administration) Nilantha Jayawardena and other high-ranking officers from the Police Department were present to witness the handing over.
