State Minister Arundika Fernando, who has tested positive for COVID-19, does not have any close contacts in Parliament, Serjeant-at-Arms Narendra Fernando said.
Issuing a media release, Mr Fernando stated that the State Minister had not attended Parliament on January 19 and 20 when it was last in session. He had also not been to Parliament in the days following those sessions.
As such, Parliament officials confirmed that the State Minister has no close contacts in Parliament.
State Minister Fernando had undergone a PCR test in Parliament on January 15 and had tested negative at the time, it further added.
