The Railway Station Masters union are to decide on their union action following the meeting with the Railway General Manager today.
The President of the union, Sumeda Somaratne said they are currently discussing with the acting Railways General Manager, weather their demands could be met.
“Our union action would be decided according to the outcome of the meeting”, Mr Somaratne elaborated said.
He explained that the union called the railway authorities to resolve their issues including excluding the Station Masters from the list of positions eligible for grade promotions every five years, rectify issues in recruitment of station Masters.
