The Colombo – Batticaloa railway line restored today
The Railway department said that the train services between Colombo and Batticaloa disrupted o Friday was restored a short while ago.
The railway line was closed yesterday as an oil tanker train collided with a herd of elephants killing two elephants. The incident occurred one kilometer away from the Minneriya railway station.
The train too had derailed as a result of the collision and had caused a spill of fuel.
