People are angry as more queues are forming at fuel stations. Arguments and even fist fights are breaking out as consumers compete for the fuel remaining at fuel stations.
A queue of ten Sathosa Lorries were stranded at the fuel station in Chittampalam A Gardiner Mawatha today morning due to lack of fuel.
The lorry operators said that they were waiting in the queue from 3.00 am in the morning but were unable to get diesel.
A person who comes to the fuel station to obtain petrol said that they are finding it difficult to take their vehicles into the fuel station as the 10 Lorries were blocking their way.
In a separate incident which occurred at a Wattala fuel station, motor cyclists and three-wheel drivers were fighting at the queues, trying to buy fuel before each other.
Ultimately the owner of the fuel station decided not to provide fuel for two three-wheelers as two three-wheel drivers refused to stay in the queue and wait for their turn.
