Three suspects have been arrested in connection with two separate recent shootings incidents in Dikwella and Dehiwala.
Two of the suspects were arrested for aiding and abetting the fatal shooting of 46-year-old person on the night of August 15.One suspect was arrested by the Dikwella Police last night (21). Officers from the Tangalle Special Task Force (STF) camp also arrested a second suspect connected with the same murder last night and handed him over to the Dikwella Police.
Police said the suspects are two brothers aged 31 and 33 years. They are charged with aiding and abetting the suspects involved in the shooting to hide.
The suspects are due to be produced before the Matara Magistrate's Court today.
Meanwhile, the Dehiwala Police have arrested a suspect on charges of aiding and abetting the gunmen who shot and injured an individual near the Auburn Place playground in Dehiwala on the night of August 19.
The arrested suspect is a 43-year-old resident of Dehiwala. He is due to be produced before the Mt. Lavinia Magistrate's Court today.
