Three youth killed in Vavuniya bus accident

Three youths have died in an accident in Vavuniya involving two buses from

Jaffna to Colombo at around 12 AM in the morning of Saturday (November 5).

Police said that one of the buses fell into a pit of 15 meters after one of bus drivers lost control of the vehicle around Friday midnight near the Nochchimottai bridge, close to Vavuniya town.

Another intercity bus also bound to Colombo from Jaffna had suddenly applied the brakes, causing the bus to lose balance and topple over.

The accidents have caused three deaths and 20 were injured among which four are in a critical condition.

The deceased include the 33 year bus driver, 23 year old female University student and another person believed to be under 35 years.
