A protest by Trade unions calling the government to reduce the electricity tariff was held opposite the Fort Railway station in Colombo today.
Propaganda Secretary of the Frontline Socialist party, Duminda Nagamuwa said that people cannot afford the electricity tariff hike and therefore were calling the public to refrain from paying the bill.
He demanded the tariff to be reduced as the rupee was now appreciating against the US dollar.
