MP Rishad Bathiudeen’s brother-in-law Mohamed Ismath and the broker who brought the deceased domestic aid to the MP’s house Ponnaha Pandaram was today (6) released on bail.
The case was taken up before Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya.
However the MP himself, his wife, and his father-in-law were further remanded until September 17. The MP was brought to courts despite Parliamentary sessions in progress today.
All five persons were held in remand custody over the domestic workers death on July 15 after being treated at the National Hospital for almost two weeks.
