Two women from the north trying to leave to Italy on forged documents has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport, officials said today.
One of them, a 31 year old woman was from Kilinochchi while the second woman, 26 years old was from Velvettithurai,
They were initially due to fly to Qatar on Saturday and travel to Italy thereafter.
However, after inspecting their visas it was revealed that they were forged visas.
They were handed over to the CID for further investigations.
At least 10 attempts by residents in North trying to leave on forged visas have been detected at the BIA this year.
