The Chairman and members of the University Grants Commission (UGC) have resigned from their positions with immediate effect.
Their resignation letters were submitted to the President yesterday (14).
The resignations came after the Presidential Secretariat informed the UGC chairman and other members to step down from their positions.
Accordingly, UGC Chairman Prof. Sampath Amaratunga, Vice-Chairman Prof. Chandana Udawatte and other members of the Commission have tendered their resignations.
