Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Dr. Sudarshani Fernandopulle has denied reports stating that she had joined the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) alliance.
Issuing a media release this evening, Dr. Fernandopulle said she decided to become independent in Parliament in April, 2022 and continues to function as an independent MP.
The MP said she and met with the opposition group led by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa today (14) and arrived at an agreement on the opposition acting under a common programme in the backdrop of the presentation of the 2023 Budget.
"However, I state with responsibility that I did not join any alliance during this meeting," she insisted.
