The death toll over the tragic bus accident in Passara this morning increased to fifteen after nine more critically injured persons succumbed to injuries, police said. At least 31 persons are admitted to Badulla district hospital for further treatment from Passara base hospital.
According to preliminary investigations by police, the accident occured when the private bus fell into a precipice in Passara today morning. The bus was heading to Colombo from Lunugala.
Investigations are underway for the cause of the accident, but eyewitnesses said that the incident occured when the driver was taking a sharp bend. Pix by G. Kishanthan
