For students awaiting the results of the GCE Ordinary Level Examinations, the Education Ministry has considered launching a vocational training course.
The Minister made these comments while attending a Ceylon German Technical Training Institute awards event yesterday (16) in Colombo.
The vocational training program would be offered throughout the three months between the end of the exam and the announcement of the results, according to Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha.
Minister Premajayantha went on to say that the Education Ministry anticipates conducting the course in the student's respective schools.
In order to meet the need for labour in the international market, he stated, a training program would be introduced at the school level.
He also said that he is working to provide the infrastructure facilities to ten new schools, Fiber Optic Connection, a new communication facility to thousands of new schools and as-needed power facilities.
