A World Health Organization (WHO) special medical team with expertise in leprosy is expected to visit Sri Lanka in March.
The WHO will assist the local health authorities in developing a plan to eradicate leprosy from Sri Lanka over the next ten years, according to the Anti-Leprosy Campaign (ALC).
Director of ALC Dr. Prasan Ranaweera said that there is a notable surge in the number of leprosy patients in Sri Lanka.
