A 14-hour water cut will be imposed today (July 15) in several areas in Colombo, says the National Water Supply & Drainage Board (NWSDB).
Hence, the areas affected by the water cut are Colombo 01, 02, 03, 04, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15.
The water supply for of said areas will be in effect no later than 14 hours from 8.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. today, owing to essential maintenance work carried out on the supply system from Maligakanda to the pumping stations that supply water to Eli House Reservoir, NWSDB also mentioned.
In the meantime, the water supply to the Biyagama Water Treatment Plant will be disrupted for 8 hours and a half tomorrow (Sunday, July 16) between 8.30 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. attributed to urgent maintenance tasks at the Sapugaskanda power plant.
On that account, Peliyagoda, Wattala, Ja-Ela, Katunayake and Seeduwa Urban Council areas along with Kelaniya, Wattala, Biyagama, Mahara, Dompe, Katana and Minuwangoda Pradeshiya Sabha areas will be responsive to the scheduled water cut.
