A decision has been reached by the government to increase the fuel quotas provided to vehicles registered under the QR system of the National Fuel Pass with effect from today (May 31), Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said.
Under the weekly fuel quota, the registered taxi three-wheelers will receive 22 litres and other three-wheelers receive 14 litres each week.
Motorcycles will be granted a fuel quota of 14 litres, whilst cars will obtain a quota of 40 litres weekly.
The 30-litre fuel quota in effect for vans will be raised to 40 litres from midnight today.
The existing fuel quota of 60 litres for buses will be increased to 125 litres per week, and the quota for lorries will also be upgraded to 125 litres.
