A total of 838 additional drug suspects have been taken into custody within a 24-hour period that concluded at 12:30 a.m. today (25) during the nationwide anti-narcotic operation ‘Yukthiya’ by police and security forces.
Of the individuals who were arrested, 549 were detained on drug-related allegations, while 289 more were listed as sought criminal suspects.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Public Security has issued detention orders against 5 suspects for further interrogations whilst 10 are being transferred for rehabilitation.
The Ministry of Public Security reported that during this 24-hour period, drugs including 211 of heroin, 78g of crystal methamphetamine (Ice), 16.6 kg of cannabis, 9,974 cannabis plants, and 1,192 narcotic pills were taken into custody.
