The Appeal Court will announce a date to commence hearings on the contempt of court case against former Chief Minister C.V. Vigneswaran and two others on February 21.
This was announed by Appeal Court judge Kumudini Wickremesinghe when the case was taken up before courts today (Feb 15).
The case against the former Chief Minister and two others have been filed by Northern Provincial Councillor B. Deniswaran.
Deniswaran, in his complaint had claimed that Mr. Vigneswaran had violated the interim order issued on his removal from the post of Provincial Council Minister of Fisheries and Transport.
Northern Provincial Councillors Ananda Sasidaran and K. Sivanesan have also been named as suspects in the case.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
