Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, has assured that, Army with the assistance of the sister services and other agencies would do its maximum to renovate or rebuild houses and other buildings to bring back the ordinary life of the affected people of Kosgama fire as soon as possible. The Army Commander also specially noted that the Army would not step aside until the final reconstruction component is completed.
Lieutenant General De Silva expressed his deep regret over the loss of property and disruption to the public life in the area as a result of this unexpected disaster. He also said that the clearance work and relief efforts conducted by the army has been backed well by the sister services and other state agencies including local government bodies, and the Disaster Management Center.
