An associate of Makandure Madush has been arrested in Maligawatte by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) last afternoon (Mar 26).
The suspect, 36-year old M. Irfan, is believed to have been the chief suspect in a shooting that killed a person in Keselwatte on February 17.
Police had also discovered 200 grams of narcotics in the possession of the suspect.
He will be produced before the Maligakande Magistrates Court today.
Meanwhile, police have commenced a search operation to apprehend another individual who had fled the area in a bid to evade arrest yesterday.
