The Government has decided to postpone the proposed ban on full-face helmets that was to be executed from Thursday (April 2), to the month of May, Lankapuvath reported. The Deputy Inspector General of Police Traffic and Road Safety Amarasiri Senaratne stated that the absence of standardized helmets available is one the fundamental reasons which drove the Police to postpone the booked enactment. Hence the decision to implement a ban on full-face helmets has been deferred, to the month of May.
