Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera cited health reasons for not appearing in courts before the Colombo Fort Magistrate yesterday.
The BBS General Secretary was scheduled to appear before court for two separate cases against him over contempt of the Quran and storming a press conference organised by an organisation named Jathika Bala Sena at Nippon Hotel, Colombo.
Ven. Gnanasara Thera, through his lawyers, informed the Fort Magistrate that he was not able to attend the hearing due to health issues. At this point, the magistrate informed the BBS General Secretary’s lawyers that the thera should produce proper medical reports at the next hearing of the case.
The cases were postponed to April 27
