Both parties in the case against former President's Chief-of-Staff Gamini Senarath and three others have been instructed to put forward their final submissions on June 03.
The instructions were issued when the case was taken up for hearing before the Special High Court judge bench of Justices Sampath Abeykoon, Sampath Wijeratne and Champa Janaki Rajaratne, today (May 23).
During today's hearing, Deputy Solicitor General Thusith Mudalige submitted a corrected report on the evidence of the case. Accordingly, court informed the defendants' lawyers to study the report and make their obeservations through a motion before court.
The former President's chief of staff has been named as a respondent along with Piyadasa Kudabalage - former Executive Director of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC) and Lasantha Bandara.
Neil Bandara Hapuhinna who was also initially named as one of the four respondents in the case, was released by court upon conclusion of an inquiry.
The Attorney General had filed a misappropriation case against the defendants under the Public Property Act for allegedly misappropriating Rs 500 million funds belonging to Litro Gas Lanka between February 01, 2014 and January 20, 2015.
