A businessman (37) was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this morning for attempting to smuggle 1.1 kg of Hashish into the country.
Customs officials seized the parcels that were concealed within a stock of t-shirts.
The suspect has been identified as a resident of Katugasthota area.
According to Customs, the Hashish is estimated to be worth Rs 1.1 million.
Further investigations are being carried out by Customs officials.
