Cabinet approval has been granted to provide injured military and police personnel a pension equivalent to their last drawn salary at the time of their retirement, until their demise.
This move will be in effect from today (Sept 24), the Finance Ministry said in a press release explaining that an Army officer who served in the ranks of Major will draw a pension of Rs 111,483.
Differently-abled soldiers who had been injured during the war had been engaged in a continuous protest opposite the Fort Railway Station over the last few days calling on the government to fulfill their financial demand
