Cabinet approval was granted today (Oct 29) to recruit more than 1,000 teachers to teach vocational skills subjects, Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said.
The Education Minister observed there has been a shortage of such teachers in state schools, affecting the government’s 13-year compulsory education programme.
