Campaigning draws to a close today midnight
Campaigning for the Parliamentary election 2015 will end at midnight today and the election offices set up by the candidates at the electoral level should be dismantled by tomorrow, Government Information Department said.
Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya said that a candidate is permitted to maintain only one District office. The Elections Chief emphasized that action would be taken to apprehend individuals who moot campaigning breaching elections regulations.
The Elections Chief said that all political party Secretaries have already been informed of removing banners, cutouts and posters that are on display at the offices of all candidates who are in the fray.
The Elections Chief stated that the Police would take action to remove all propaganda material that has not been taken away from the offices by 8 am on Saturday.
