A haul of kerala cannabis worth Rs 15 million was discovered in a luxury vehicle used by a former police inspector and another individual in Medawachchiya yesterday (May 22).
Medawachchiya Police who were tipped off regarding the vehicle had set-up a temporary road block before they had seized the cannabis upon searching the vehicle.
Police had later learnt that the vehicle had been travelling from Mannar towards Anuradhapura through Medawachchiya.
According to the Police, 138 kilograms of kerala cannabis and a uniform were seized from the vehicle. The former Police Inspector who was driving the vehicle was also apprehended along with the other passenger.
