The Colombo high court ordered today (Nov 7) that the case filed against former Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Anura Senanayake, be taken up for trial on December 3.
Mr Senanyake has been accused of concealing evidence in the case involving the murder of former rugger player Wasim Thajudeen
While the respondent was not present in court when the case was taken up today, his counsel informed court that he was ill and was being treated in hospital.
An indictment was filed against Mr Senanayake charging that by concealing evidence during investigations into this case he had committed a crime under the Penal Code

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera.
