Former Navy Commander Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne has been transferred to the Welikada Prison after being registered with the Colombo Remand Prison.
The Fort Magistrate has instructed the Superintendent of the Prison to provide security to the Chief of Defence Staff who is in remand custody.
Mr Wijegunaratne was at the Colombo Remand Prison at 6 pm last evening and thereafter transferred to the Welikada Prison at 8.30 pm yesterday (Nov 28), Prison Officials said.
