The Chief Prelates of the Tri-Nikayas have advised the public to refrain from taking part in violence and instead to engage in their day-to-day activities as usual.
Issuing a statement, the Chief Prelates called on the people to establish a peaceful enviornment in order to celebrate the Vesak festival in a peaceful manner.
The statement goes on to note that acts of diruptive violence disregards the hope for justice in the hearts of the Easter Sunday attack victims.
"Outbursts of violence could be caused owing to the failure to take the right decision at the appropriate time," the Chief Prelates said.
They also lamented by saying that they have issued this statement to remind certain officials who had ignored their teachings during previous occassions.
