Child among three killed in road accident

Three persons, including a seven-year-old child were killed in a head-on collision between a three-wheeler and a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus at Polgahamulla in Dickwella last evening. 

Police Media Unit said seven persons who were in the three-wheeler, including its driver, were injured in the accident. They were admitted to the Dikwella Hospital, where the driver and a female passenger were pronounced dead. The other four female passengers and a male child were transferred to Matara Hospital for further treatment. However, the child succumbed to his injuries. 

The bus driver has been arrested. Dikwella Police are investigating.
