The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested a person who was spreading fake news along with misleading images claiming to be deaths caused by COVID-19, police said.
According to police, a 35 year old individual was taken into custody yesterday for putting a post in his social media page claiming COVID-19 patients are dying along the roads with misleading images of dead bodies.
Police said that a CID team has been tasked to arrest those who were spreading similar false and misleading information in social media platforms immediately.
