The Government has decided to extend the concessionary period regarding the payment of additional charges for delay in applying for registration of transfer at the change of possession of motor vehicles.
The earlier 3 month concessionary period granted under the approval of the Cabinet expires today (November 30).
However, large numbers of people continue to arrive at the Department of Motor Traffic in this regard and this causing a very busy situation in department's duties, the Government noted.
Accordingly, Cabinet has approved a proposal by Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Nimal Siripala De Silva to extend this concessionary period by another month.
