The travel ban imposed on Perpertual Treasuries Ltd Chairman Geoffrey Aloysius, a suspect in the treasury bond scam case, was lifted today (Jun 06).
Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne temporarily lifted the ban after considering a request put forward by an attorney representing Aloysius.
The attorney had told court today that his client required travelling to India from July 1 - 11 and to Canada from July 15 - August 7.
Accordingly, the Chief Magistrate instructed the Immigration and Emigration Department Controller to temporarily lift the travel restrictions imposed on the suspect.
