The total number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Sri Lanka has increased to 178 today with two more persons tested positive while 257 persons are under observation at National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH), Health Promotion Bureau of Health Ministry said. With four persons fully recovered today, totally 38 persons had been recovered and discharged.
According to the Epidemiology unit statistics, seventeen individuals have been recovered and discharged from IDH and 135 active patients are currently admitted to the special ward. Five patients died due to COVID-19 while another Chinese tourist who was identified in January left the country after fully recovered.
