A suspect known as 'Singithi Kaluwa wanted for burglaries carried out in several parts of the country was taken into custody on Wednesday (26) at Weeraketiya by the crime Unit of Tangalle police division
The suspect (34) was a resident of Heenbunna Weeraketiya.
The suspect was arrested at his home with a T56 fire arm, a magazine, 30 live cartridges, 1 milligram of Heroine and he had in his possesion 610 milligrams of Heroin according to the police.
The suspect has 11 arrest warrants against him and he has involved in a number of looting and burglaries in places like Palmadulla,Galewela, Kahawatte, Kamburupitiya, Embilipitiya, Kuttigala,Piliyandala and Beruwala.
The suspect was arrested on a tip-off by the crime Unit of Tangalle police division under the instructions of SSP Tangalle Ravindra Ambepitiya and ASP Sanath Amarasinghe. (By Nelson Piyaratna)
